Area Congregations Together
Our Mission
Spooner House is operated by Area Congregations Together, Inc. with the mission of providing food, shelter and support services to people in need. All of our energies are devoted to helping our clients establish a self-sufficient living situation. We recognize the dignity of our clients, we give them our respect and we deliver our services without proselytizing.
Thank you to PerkinElmer employees who spent a day at Spooner House on Tuesday,
September 13. These wonderful volunteers deep-cleaned the floor and shelves in our food bank, trimmed and weeded around the outside of the building, served lunch, cleaned the laundry room, and assisted with several other cleaning and maintenance tasks around the facility. We are deeply grateful for groups like this who give their time, energy, and many hands on deck to make a big difference for an agency like ours.

Volunteer Opportunity:
Prepare an evening meal for Spooner House residents
Sign up for an "Open Night"! Spooner House has a great crew of community groups and area congregations that diligently prepare the evening meal on the same day each month. There are some dates though that do not have a consistent group that prepares the meal and such, are "Open Nights" that we look to fill. The volunteer opportunity would include: preparing a menu, bringing in the food, and then using our kitchen to prepare and serve the dinner meal for our residents.

Interested? Contact Kate at kpipa@actspooner.org or (203) 225-0453 x 102.

We are looking to fill the following dates:
We could especially use the following items:
Soup/Stew/Chili * Canned/Baked/Dry Beans * Canned fruit * Peanut Butter & Jelly * Canned Ravioli
Pasta Sauce * Rice * Hamburger/Tuna Helper * Canned/Boxed Potatoes * Canned Chicken
You can also make a donation online or start your own fundraising page here.
